Comhaltas looking for Trad Musicians, Singers, Dancers
to perform along Claddagh Quay during this Festival. The Road will be closed off from Traffic on evenings to allow Performances along the Roadway etc. Seating and platforms for Dancers will be provided. Comhaltas Evening Thursday 25th May between 6.30 to 9.30pm. Friday Evening 6pm To 7pm Saturday and Sunday afternoons at Claddagh and Salthill Promenade Sessions from Wednesday night to Sunday night and everyone Welcome at Taafes, Tigh Colies, Tigh Neachtains, Kings Head, Dew Drop inn, Jury's Hotel Roisin Dubh, Monroe's, Crane Bar, Massimos, Claddagh Cottage etc.

Seosamh o Fatharta and his band with a traditional Sardinian Band are playing 4 nights Thursday 9th in Ciaran Cannons, Carrabane at 9pm Friday 10th. An teach Cheoil,Corofin Co. Clare at 9pm Saturday 11th in An Taibhdhearc at 8pm Sunday 11th in St. Nicholas Church, Galway at 3pm. Returning after great success Clifden Comhaltas Branch present “Celebrity Sean Nós 2017”. 16 Local Connemara “Celebrities” from a variety of groups and organisations have been selected and are going to learn how to sean nós dance in the coming weeks. They will perform on the night and audience voting will take place for each celebrity and the person with the most votes win! Admission is only 5 euros and it's 1 euro a vote on the night. All funds raised will go towards Clifden Comhaltas events for 2017. The Contestants are: Kathleen Aspell Mortimer – Cluid Housing Graham Roberts – Connemara Youth Rugby Rosie Mannion – Rosie’s Hair Salon Dominic Lynch – Connemara Golf Club Niall Staunton & Cian Laffey – Mannions Bar Ann Reilly – Slimming World Bridget Munnelly Woods & Diana Conroy – Connemara Gaels Ladies Football Susan O’Leary – West Coast United Neil Gallery – Clifden Fire Service Cathriona Canavan – Singer Jack Keaney & Whitney Rufai – Clifden Community School Damien Ryan – Lowrys Bar Lisa King – Connemara Chamber of Commerce There will be lots of young sean nos dancers also performing on the night and local groups of young and older musicians will also entertain. Galway Fleadh, Portumna, May 19,20,21 2017 Connacht Fleadh, NUI Galway, July 7,8,9 2017All Ireland Fleadh Ennis, 13-20 August 2017 Concert for Galwaay Fleadh 2017 To coincide with the official launch of the Galway County Fleadh a major concert is being organised by Galway County Comhaltas in conjunction with South-East Galway Comhaltas. It will consist of prizewinner from previous Galway, Connacht and All Ieland Fleadhanna with special guests. The concert will take place in Portumna on St. Patrick's weekend .
