The branch was founded in 1954. The branch hosted many Fleadhs over the years, but one of the highlights was Fleadh Cheoil Chonnachta in 2004 to mark the Golden Jubilee of the branch. As part of many of the events hosted that year the branch recorded a CD dedicated to musicians and singers of Ballinasloe Comhaltas CCE.

The branch also hosted the 2014 Connacht Fleadh.

Many of the events that the branch host are weekly music sessions, Junior sessions, music lessons, and dancing classes.

The membership is made up of members from Roscommon and Galway area. Ballinasloe Comhaltas is still going strong and with the current vibrant committee at the helm it going from strength to strength.
